MEET OUR AMAZING STAFF

Rob Grant.jpg

Pastor,
Rob Grant

Pastor Rob Grant came to Alvarado Methodist in July 2022 from the First United Methodist Church of Columbia of the Brookhaven District of the Mississippi Annual Conference. His wife, Erin, is also an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and was Co-Pastor at the church in Columbia. Previously, he served three other appointments, the last of which was pastor of three small churches in north Mississippi for eight years.

Born and raised a Roman Catholic in Savannah GA, Pastor Rob has a BA in English from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville GA. There The Wesley Foundation (United Methodist) campus ministry became a large part of his college experience. As he approached graduation, he knew God had been preparing him for the work of ministry. In February of 2000, Pastor Rob joined the United Methodist Church and served as an intern at the Wesley Foundation. After graduation he attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky where he earned his Master of Divinity (MDiv). More importantly, that is where he met Erin. They married in 2004 and served in Mississippi beginning in the summer of 2007. Pastor Rob is an ordained Elder of the United Methodist Church as of June of 2014.

Pastor Rob has a heart for hands-on ministry, reaching beyond the local church and being connected to the community, helping with disaster relief and in local community food pantries. His love for campus ministry encouraged his participation in Methodist Conference boards.

Pastor Rob and his wife have three beautiful children, two daughters and a son, who now call Alvarado home and are enjoying small town life and involvement in school activities.
