MEET OUR AMAZING STAFF
Pastor Kim spent 20 years as a speech-language pathologist before entering full-time ministry. She is a graduate of Baylor University and TCU's Brite Divinity School. She is married to Robert (aka Bob) and together they raised two children, Rebecca and Zach. Thanks to the weddings of both their children, they now have two more amazing adult children, Jake and Braiden. The whole family loves to play games around the table and spend time at the beach.
Pastor Kim brings to her ministry a passion for loving God and loving others. She has a deep desire to inspire a way of life in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 4: 17, NIV) in all people.
Youth Ministries Director, Tanner Smith
Tanner is recently married to his wife Hannah. They are both originally from Robinson, Texas.
Tanner received an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and is currently working
towards his Masters of Divinity at Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He has served in youth ministry in other settings for several years.
He is passionate about serving youth and helping them become the people that God created them to be. He is excited to be leading the youth ministry here at Alvarado Methodist.
Childrens Ministry Director, Amelia Crumpton
Amelia Crumpton has been a member of Alvarado Methodist for 10 years. She has 2 children, Justin who is currently in college at Texas Tech, and Addison who attends school at Alvarado Junior High. Amelia has been married to Jerrod for 22 years and they both work full time for Alvarado ISD. Along with being the AISD District and High School Librarian, Amelia serves Alvarado Methodist as being one of the three Children's Directors. It is the goal of the Children's Directors to ensure that children come to church to enjoy learning about God and the path he has for them.
Childrens Ministry Director, Erica Pulaski
Erica Pulaski and her husband Michael have 3 children, Andrew, Oscar and Isaac. They have been members of Alvarado Methodist for almost 11 years now. Erica is one of the three Children's directors here at FUMC Alvarado and the Administrative Assistant at Alvarado High School. Her desire for the children's ministry is to teach our children the love of God, how each of them are so very special in their own way and help them discover the light of Christ in them!
In her spare time, she loves to travel with her family, watch football and fellowship with family and friends!
Childrens Ministry Director, Lisa Thorley
Lisa Thorley has been a member of Alvarado Methodist for 22 years and is happily married to Darrell. They both have 2 sons; Trevor and Lucas and share 3 grandchildren. Lisa has worked for Alvarado ISD for 17 years and is currently at the High School.
Lisa loves being one of the 3 children’s directors. She believes that children need to grow up around the word of God so that they will lean on God and God’s word as adults.
Lee Ann Clay
Lea Ann has worked in the Alvarado Methodist nursery since 2012. She was raised in the Methodist Church in Mansfield, Texas. She moved to Alvarado in 2002. Lea Ann’s twin children have been raised in Alvarado Methodist Church. She has been an administrative assistant for Alvarado ISD’s athletic department for 11 years. She loves all
sports and the rodeo.
She is Alvarado ISD’s biggest sports fan!
Mary joined our staff as Music Director in 2018. A life-long United Methodist, she has served in music and other staff positions at a number of churches since 1981. After two enlistments as an Army musician, she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in church music from East Carolina University and did graduate work in music education there, as well as in sacred music and divinity at Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
Mary also works full-time for MHMR of Tarrant County. In her somewhat limited spare time, she writes hymns, lyrics, and other poetry and arranges and composes music. She is a West Coast native but was “transplanted" to Texas in 1989. She shares a home in Fort Worth with her beautiful Siamese cat, Sylvia
Praise Music Leader, Zach Thompson
Zach Thompson was born and raised in Fort Worth and graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 2017. He currently lives in Fort Worth with his wife Bailey and a menagerie of pets, and he likes to spend his time reading long fantasy novels and cooking.
Zach brings passion into his work at the church. He believes music is one of the primary vehicles through which we articulate our praises to God, which means there is no musical pursuit too small or insignificant to make for meaningful worship. On Sunday mornings, you will generally find him playing the guitar and leading the congregation in worship through modern music.
Before God led Denise to serve at Alvarado Methodist, she served many churches beginning at age 14. She attended TCU, receiving 2 music degrees & a minor also in music. She then went on to Michigan State University to receive my Masters of Music degree. Denise has also taught in the public schools as a band director, choir director & private oboe & bassoon teacher. She have also taught piano lessons since she was 16 years old. Denise retired as a professional oboist in 2017. Also, taught at UTA for 12 years as their oboe instructor & a music theory teacher.
God has blessed Denise with twins, Brian & Katy, their spouses, Allie & Brandon, and 10 grandchildren from 1 year old to 12 year old. Denise enjoys her cats Vanessa and Tabitha.
Melissa has been the Administrative Assistant since March of 2020. Married for 35 years, she and her husband, Joe have two daughters who have blessed them with 3 grand-daughters. Melissa and her family own and manage Angel Path Christmas Tree Farm in Burleson.
She feels very blessed to be a part of the Alvarado Methodist Family!
Suzanne was blessed to be adopted into a loving Christian family at 2 months of age and raised in that atmosphere. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 6. Suzanne began her career at 18 and has enjoyed office work all of her life. She especially enjoys working with numbers because they always make sense! In 1991, she wrote the manuals, titled "Freedom Ministry". Through this ministry, Suzanne has led groups and individuals find freedom in Christ. This has been a very rewarding part of her life.
She has two grown children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Family is an important part of her life. She treasures the time she spends with them. Suzanne strives to represent the Lord in all that she does.
