The Alvarado United Methodist Church offers its historic chapel as the perfect setting for an elegant and sacred ceremony. The charm and presence of the buildings and grounds will captivate couples and promises a memory they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
A Historic Landmark in the town of Alvarado
The Alvarado United Methodist’s Sanctuary is a historical site that was originally built in 1885. The current Victorian structure was rebuilt after the original Methodist Church burned by fire.
Although the building has been restored and redecorated many times, the elegance and charm of the structure has been carefully preserved. The lancet windows with stained glass, tall spire with bell tower and the original, 450 lb. bell are still in beautiful condition. The bell can be rung for any special occasion or on any given Sunday.
Inside, the pews, the carved pulpit and the three large high-backed chairs are from the early 1900’s and are still in use today.
The sanctuary is available for weddings throughout the year with seating for approximately 150 people.
The Family Life Center is also available for gatherings and events with seating for approximately 100 people.
